On Tuesday, September 29 2020, we finished our 2019⁄20 workshop season with a full-day workshop and this year the topic was Natural Language Processing, a popular topic requested by many in our past workshops.
Prof. Marko Robnik Šikonja joined forces with Andrej Miščič and Luka Vranješ, our Data Science Master’s students, created a workshop titled Modern NLP Through Large Pretrained Language Models. The participants first learned about the basics of NLP and then moved on to neural language models, BERT and transformers. The first part served as a theoretical foundation for the second part, where they had some good laughs playing around with sentiment analysis, named entity recognition and text generation.
